About: A holiday house on a six-hectare former fish farm in Wallonia, surrounded by ten spring-fed ponds, meadows and woodland. A long pontoon leads into the swimming pond, fed by springs on the property, and there is a wood-fired hot tub, a boat, a pétanque pitch and an Ofyr grill.

About: A small cabin for two on the Sleat peninsula of Skye, built by Neil and Laura, two architects at Dualchas, as a personal project on the island where they live. A safe shallow beach is on the doorstep and the ruins of Dunskaith Castle are a walk away. Two adults only, no children, no pets.

About: Two places to stay at the edge of the forest in Bezau, in the Bregenzerwald valley of western Austria, Frieda is the larger of the two, a 68 square metre house with a sauna, two bedrooms each with their own bathroom, and a terrace looking towards a nearby deer enclosure, sleeping four or at a push five. Johann is a 52 square metre apartment on the upper floor.
